WA Chauffeur (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates the website www.wachauffeur.com and provides chauffeur and airport-transfer services in Western Australia (OBDS 1012448). This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and your rights. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
1. Information we collect
- Contact details you give us — name, email address and phone number.
- Booking & enquiry details — pickup and drop-off locations, dates and times, vehicle preference, number of passengers, luggage, flight numbers and any notes you provide.
- Location data — if you tap “use my current location”, your browser shares your approximate coordinates with us to set your pickup point. This only happens with your permission and is used solely to prepare your quote.
- Technical & usage data — IP address, device and browser type, pages visited and interactions, collected via cookies and similar technologies.
2. How we use your information
- To prepare quotes, respond to enquiries and arrange your rides.
- To contact you about your booking and provide customer support.
- To operate, secure and improve our website.
- To measure and improve our advertising and understand how visitors use the site.
3. Cookies, analytics & advertising
We use cookies and similar technologies, including:
- Google Analytics — to understand site usage (IP anonymisation is enabled).
- Google Ads — to measure conversions and the effectiveness of our advertising. Google may set cookies to attribute a booking request to an ad.
- Local storage — to remember your light/dark theme preference on your device.
You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings, and opt out of Google’s advertising personalisation at adssettings.google.com. You can opt out of Google Analytics with the browser add-on.
4. Third parties & service providers
We share information only as needed to run our service, with providers such as:
- Google (Firebase/Firestore for storing booking data, Analytics and Ads).
- Vercel (website hosting).
- OpenStreetMap / map & geocoding providers — to display maps and convert addresses to coordinates. Address text you type for a quote may be sent to these providers to find the location.
- Email delivery providers — to send you and us booking notifications.
Some of these providers may store or process data outside Australia. We take reasonable steps to ensure your information is handled securely. We do not sell your personal information.
5. Data retention
We keep booking and enquiry records for as long as needed to provide our services, meet legal and tax obligations, and resolve disputes. When no longer required, we delete or de-identify it.
6. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data.
7. Your rights
You may request access to, or correction of, the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it. Contact us using the details below and we will respond within a reasonable time.
8. Children
Our services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children without the consent of a parent or guardian.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date above shows when it was last revised. Material changes will be posted on this page.
